New Year: Disappointments of the year Tips to move forward

New Year is around the corner; while others are rejoicing in the seasonal celebration; many others are contemplating on the way forward in their lives.
You may have recently encountered disappointments in your job, facing emotional crises due to broken heart from a relationship, while others may have just lost loved ones.
However, there is no problem for you only need to look deeper to appreciate all you have passed through within the year.
Basically, being alive seems to be the most important thing in this discuss, as making yourself happy and lifting your spirit depends solely on you the thinker/reader and no other person living or dead can make you achieve that.
No matter what the situation could be, think of other positive things that have come across your way this year and literally count your blessings; from there, you can find the strength to carry on.
I want you to grab a paper and pen and write down these points as I take you through some brainstorming points and events in your life through the year.
How many new places did you visit within the year; It is widely known that travelling is part of education, so if within the year you have added new places or countries to the number of places you visited, you have ultimately learnt something and added value to your life.
How many new friends have you gotten that have made great impacts in your live, I mean those that have taught you new skills in countering life’s difficult situations, shown you new business strategies in life, given you shoulder to cry on when you needed a comforter, lent you a helping hand when things were rough; opened your eyes to many opportunities you can utilize to achieve your desired level in life. Knowing people brings more opportunities in life especially in this current generation where networking is very vital in business and life in general.
Other things to ponder on are the many breakthroughs you have achieved in your workplace no matter how insignificant, the new gadget you just purchased that has added a little value to your life, what new things have you learnt in the aspect of cooking, maintaining your health and keeping fit in this world of multiple health hazards; what is the newest fashion you have learnt in keeping up with the society, which bad habits have you successfully dropped from your system within the year.
What are the major teachings you have learnt in life within the year; you don’t need to be asked how many extra few coins that have been added to your bank account. However, if there were no increase in the account, the mere existence of the account means there is potential for increasing it.
Time to look forward:
Religiously going through the above stated, you can agree with me that the year never went in vain. So cheer up and have another perspective to your views; start by knowing how to utilize your advantages in life.
·        Think of the next year as a new start for many things to come:
·        Utilize the experiences you have gathered through the year for that next big thing in your life;
·        Grab the opportunity of your new acquaintance and develop that big picture in your mind around them;
·        Have you checked the possibility of the new places you just visited in projecting your new business idea?;
·        Have you checked how the negative experiences you encountered within the year can help in solving problems for others and educating friends;
·        In this coming year, have you thought of dropping those friends that have negatively influenced life;
·        Which steps do you intend taking to improve yourself spiritually, educationally and financially this coming year;
·        If you have not discovered your potentials in life all these while, why can’t you resolve to face it this coming year

·        Lastly, forgive and settle your scores with everyone so that you can start the New Year on a new page in principle and reality. http://iykmezu.blogspot.com/2015/01/blog-post.html?m=1

H.W. BUSH IN HOSPITAL AGAIN FOR CHRISTMAS

The former U.S, President, H. W. Bush and the oldest commander in chief in the U.S, has been hospitalised for the second time during Christmas period. It would be recalled that the former President spent the 2012 Christmas

in intensive care at the Houston's Methodist Hospital, same hospital where he is presently admitted. In 2012, he was listed among world leaders who spent their Christmas in the hospital, along with Margaret Thatcher and Nelson Mandela. Reports have it that his current visit to the hospital is as a result of shortness of breath, which has warranted doctors to keep him under observation. It is not clear if the former president would be allowed to be home early enough to join family and friends for the remainder of the celebration. It would be recalled that the senior Bush was in hospital for 2012 Christmas while being treated for a bronchitis-related cough and other issues. He was discharged in January 2013, after nearly two months in the hospital. However, fans and friends have been full of gratitude to God for keeping him alive till this day, as past leaders who were hospitalised in 2012 Christmas along with him had all passed on.

HOW THE CHRISTMAS CAROLS CAME TO US

The first sung carols were pagan songs, sung at the winter Solstice celebrations as people danced round stone circles.
Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year, celebrated to honour the sun god usually on 22nd December. Early Christians adopted the songs and replaced them with Christian songs.
Around A.D 129, according to history, a Roman Bishop’s request that a song ‘Angel’s Hymn’ be sung at a Christmas service in Rome, marked the birth of Christmas Carols.
From there, several composers around Europe wrote Christmas Carols. However, the Carols were not widely accepted because it was mostly in

Cock Lock for men.

What do you make out of this?......................................
My own suggestion of this picture is "Cheating men in trouble". I actually saw in on a blog by Myne Whitman, one of our sisters living abroad, and it has really got me thinking. I mean if this actually exists, cheaters are in big trouble.

ENTERTAINMENT PERSONALITIES: NEW CROP OF POLITICIANS WITH THE MASSES AT HEART

It has been observed that Nigerian entertainment personalities are gradually shifting their focus to politics. This has been referred to as new crop of politicians in the field of Nigerian politics. At the last count, not less than six Nollywood entertainers have indicated interest in vying for political positions in our great country Nigeria.
My own humble analysis and opinion is that this collection of new politicians most likely has the interest of the masses at heart unlike the other politicians we are used to.

My reasons for this theory are not far-fetched because their initial areas of specialisation where basically meant to make the masses happy or keep them entertained. Logically they

check out Malia Obama

President Obama's eldest daughter, who recently turned 16, was attending the gig in Chicago with friends and burly Secret Service members this weekend. The teenager attempted to blend in with the crowd in a summery daisy-print dress and some grungy boots suited for the muddy field - but failed to do so. One journalist tweeted that she had seen the 16-year-old watching Lorde on Friday while other festival-goers reported seeing Malia at Chance The Rapper on Sunday. The teenager stayed until the finale was over and then left the park on foot with friends, according to various reports.

What informs your choice of shoe?

Hi guys, let’s think of ourselves for a minute. Lets research on some issues concerning us. To be honest with you, I just learnt about some of the shoe names but I would not reveal how plenty or how little I knew about the various male shoe names before now.
 The following are type of male shoes you can find around

1- Oxfords

Originally known as Balmorals in England, oxfords are leather shoes with a low instep, closed lacing and a non-rubber sole. Modern oxfords, however, may be constructed from suede
or synthetic materials according to the designer’s taste, but no matter the material used to construct them, oxfords are usually quite plain with few — if any — embellishments. This type of shoe best fits formal outings.

2- Loafers
As a young lad, this was about the only shoe I knew its name.  Loafers look sporty as well as official on the wearer. It is known to have no lace or buckle. Traditionally made from leather, loafers are slip-on shoes that resemble a moccasin on top, but have a wide and fairly flat heel. Many loafers have tassels, although these are often dispensed with nowadays.
Penny loafers have a strap across the upper portion of the shoe, which was originally designed to hold chain or an ornament.
3- Cap toes
Cap toes are essentially decorated oxfords. Dress shoes can be embellished in a number of ways, but a cap toe on oxfords is by far the most common. Oxfords are usually quite spare with no superfluous features on the top portion of the
shoe above the toe. In contrast, cap-toe shoes have an additional layer or band of leather over the toe. The extra portion might be a clean and simple line, in which case you will be able to wear them more frequently.

4- Dress boots
Dress boots are slim, ankle-length boots with a slight heel that fit the foot and leg quite snugly. They perfectly fit both formal dressing and casual wears.

5- Monk strap
This style of shoe refers to dress shoes that are similar to loafers in that they don’t have laces. While loafers are typically plain or tasseled, monk strap shoes have a metallic buckle and a leather strap on the upper portion of the shoe; a feature that also distinguishes them from cap toes, where the leather strap is located above the toe portion of the shoe.
The shoe is designed in such a way that it can be used for both casual and formal outing.

6.            Athletic Shoes

Athletic shoes can be broken up into many categories: Runners, Walkers, Cross-Trainers, Hikers, and Tennis Shoes. Each shoe is designed for the activity in its name and you should be careful to primarily use it for that purpose.
You can wear your walkers and hikers with casual clothes, but make sure that you keep them clean since there texture is not the same as ordinary shoes. The watch word is ‘Keep it clean’. Washing it with hand is more preferable as against using washing machine, which might not be of good to the shoe.

7.        Boat Shoes

The British twitt that caused uproar

Gemma Worall, a 20 year old receptionist at a beauty salon in the seaside town of Britain never expected the effect her blunder could cause her family and herself as she tried to air her views in the famous micro-blog twitter.

She had been watching a news programme about the unrest in Ukraine and decided to get involved in the debate.
‘If barraco barner is our president, why is he getting involved with Russia, scary,’ Gemma wrote.

Although she was quick to point out that politics is not her strong suit, her mistakes were so surprising and brought many reactions as people did not only complain for the misspelling of the US President’s name, but for the fact that she feels he is the president of Britain was more shocking.

Within just 12 hours, her comment had been retweeted almost 7,000 times and screenshots of her words were appearing on television news programmes as far afield as Australia, Canada and America.
In the immediate aftermath of her tweet, she says she found the whole thing hilarious. But now, stunned by the global reaction, she says she feels responsible for the detrimental effect it is having on her family.
