DEADLY PHONE HABITS

Phone text messaging at inappropriate places and occasions has become common thing within the society. This is an obsession found not only in our youngsters, but has found its way across all age groups. This has been the cause of many mishaps both domestic and outside the home. A typical example of such is a lady who mistakenly poured baking powder into a pot
of soup because she was on the phone instructing her office colleague on how to bake cake while warming soup in her own kitchen (what a life). Many have learnt the disadvantages of inappropriate use of phone the hard way, as it has brought untold hardship and grief to many, such as motor accidents, injury and shock.

Many road accidents have been blamed on negligence caused by distraction from use of mobile phone while driving but has still been down-played by many.

The craze and somewhat addiction to blackberry phones by so many individuals today is to be of great concern to us. I have witnessed on more than two occasions, individuals on the wheels typing messages into their phones without feeling any guilt or realizing the threat the pose to other road users.

Let us make it a point of duty to correct and sensitize others on the dangers of misusing this mode of communication, after all the first leaflet of any mobile phone manual is the caution and safety usage side.

Another man’s carelessness may be our misfortune (did I hear you say God forbid), please sensitize others today. Use your gadgets responsibly.
